Look at the Colorer ​http://colorer.sourceforge.net/ library and at ​http://search.cpan.org/dist/Syntax-Highlight-Universal/

Maybe it could be added as a plugin to Padre?

We already have Wx::Scintilla. Do we still need this?

No need for Colorer since we have Wx::Scintilla :)
