strange irregular crashes

Description

Sometimes (infrequently), Padre crashes on Ubuntu 10.04.
I haven't been able to find a pattern here, but it happened to me already 10 times.

(padre:2639): GdkPixbuf?-CRITICAL : gdk_pixbuf_get_has_alpha: assertion `GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed

Padre 0.72 silently exits frequently (~10 crashes in the first half hour of trying to use it) on Windows XP with Strawberry 5.12.1. The pattern seems to be attempting to debug a file after changing an option via Tools -> Preferences.
