#1084 reopened enhancement

Tooltip expression evaluation

Reported by: dandv Owned by: bowtie
Priority: minor Milestone:
Component: Debugger for Perl 5 Version: 0.97
Keywords: Cc:

Description

A very handy feature from OptiPerl?, that I've been missing in Komodo, is evaluating the variable or selected text under the mouse cursor. It should be relatively easy to implement by displaying the result of "Show Value Now" in a tooltip when mousing over selected text, at least.

Not sure why this issue wouldn't still be relevant. In 0.94, hovering over a variable while debugging still doesn't do anything.

in 0.95

  • Variable data now shown in corresponding colour (BOWTIE)

hence any variable that is able to be displayed via

  • Show local variables (y=0)
  • Show global variables

don't for get, Debug2 only let's you do what you can do via perl -d
