Is this really asking for remote _EDITING_ or rather LOAD/SAVE to a remote project? I know this is a feature of kate and other editors that was quite useful.

Load and save. And if possible then also run and debug.

At least for ssh: Please add an option to execute a command after connect and before any file operation is done (like "su dev_environment_user").

The new Padre::File (r7923) API should take over all file access (for edited files). This ticket could be solved now by adding Padre::File::SSH and Padre::File::FTP - modules.
