UI blocks through status menu tooltip repaint

Description
- Click View drop-down menu to open.
- Move the mouse pointer over the whole vertical length of the menu within half a second or so, repeatedly down and up again over a time-span of 5 seconds or so.
Expected: UI stays responsive.
Actual: repaint of the tool tips for the menu entries in the status bar blocks the UI completely.
