493	splash image license not suitable for Debian	dam "The splash image (new in 0.43) is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/legalcode). At least the ""non-commercial"" part contradicts point 1 and 6 of the Debian Free Software Guidelines (http://www.debian.org/social_contract#guidelines).

A suitable replacement license would be BY-SA-3.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/).

There are packages using this license already in Debian: padre (yes, for the logo image), gnome-colors, sensors-applet, kdebase-runtime. (there are probably others too, but this is what I have installed on my system).

Alternatively, I can provide some plain splash image (without a butterfly or other photo on it) if you like.

Note that this is not really a show-stopper for Padre to be in Debian. The usual practice in these cases it to repackage upstream source excluding not acceptable files and replace them with free works. Of course this takes some effors and is not very good for the splash image (because of its visibility) but it could work technically."	defect	closed	major downstream	0.43	fixed	license
