Unable to connect to Perl Irc using IE7

IE 7 does not allow you to connect to

http://padre.perlide.org/irc.html?channel=padre

The screen allows you to enter a Nickname but the drop down menu for Channel does not appear.
Firefox and IE 8 both contain the drop down menu.
Without the menu, it is impossible to connect using IE7

Even though it is valid IE does not like trailing commas at the end of a list in Javascript.
