possibly copyrighted work without a license (share/languages/perl5/perlapi_current.yml)

Description

While preparing Debian packages of Padre 0.53, I noticed the file share/languages/perl5/perlapi_current.yml which looks like a copyrighted work, but lacks both copyright notice and license.

I could omit this file from the package, but it seems quite useful to have it :)

I got a reply from tsee:

  • The information is extracted from perl core's pod/perlapi.pod.
  • That is (obviously) distributed under the same terms as perl itself.
  • The actual YAML file is generated by my Perl::APIReference module which is also licensed "same as perl". (I know you packaging people don't like this licensing, sorry.)
  • Perl::APIReference is also the program that extracts the info from a pod/perlapi.pod file.

So, (IANAL) I'd say the file in question is (c) Larry Wall and a cast of thousands because its contents are.

I'll add the copyright/licensing from Perl to the file, then update the copyright/licensing summary in the package.

Since padre 0.94 is in Debian sid. I think this is not relevant anymore.

Thanks :)
