Xaero told me he has the same problem with Strawberry 5.12.

If Padre is running with outline windows active it crashes after first change of the code.

How to reproduce:
- activate View > Show outline
- try to edit this file:
{{{
my $var1;
my $var2;
}}}

Without outline window it works fine.
